How many of you have ever watched an episode of Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee? Well this is kind of like that except with DIY projects! Haha! This was such a fun, easy DIY project to use anywhere in your home!

DIY Cascading Garland

Monday, November 6, 2017

'Christmas Tiiime is here.... happiness and cheer'. That's right, y'all... The Christmas season has officially begun in our house! It doesn't take long after Halloween ends for me to feel the itch to start decorating for Christmas. I know the world is divided into a) those who decorate early for Christmas and b) grinches. Haha, Just kidding! I know a lot of people prefer to wait until after Turkey Day to bust out their trees and twinkle lights and that is TOTALLY okay! But this girl likes the extra month to cherish the Christmas decor.

DIY Trick or Treat Sign under $20

Tuesday, October 17, 2017

Sharpie art has exploded around my house this month and even my porch wasn't safe from it! I busted out the king size sharpie to complete this fun Trick or Treat sign and the end result is a whimsical fall welcome to our guests!

Trash to Treasure Tuesday- Dresser Makeover

Tuesday, October 10, 2017

This post is sponsored by Fusion Mineral Paint but all thoughts and opinions are my own!

You guys! I am so excited to be sharing my first ever official Trash to Treasure Transformation (oh my gosh the alliteration!). Not only is this the first time I am officially posting this type of project it is also my first time ever using a chalk like paint! Shocking, I know! Isn't it like a rite of passage for all bloggers to paint something with chalk paint? Well I guess I've officially made it then, folks! Ha. Not quite!

DIY Floating Witch Hats

Monday, October 9, 2017

I am so excited for the Halloween season to begin! Halloween really feels like the beginning of the holiday season which is my absolute favorite time of the year! I love everything about fall from the pumpkin spice flavors to clear blue skies and rainbow colors of changing leaves. Maybe a little bit of me loves fall because once Halloween is over it's pretty much Christmas time in my books (this is a moment I will say #sorrynotsorry). Of course we still celebrate Thanksgiving... we just do it with Christmas decor up! No shame in my holiday decorating game.

Welcome to Week 3 of the $100 Room Makeover Challenge hosted by Erin at Lemons, Lavender, and Laundry! In case you missed it here are Week 1 and Week 2 of this challenge!

I am beyond excited to share this week's progress because it was a true 'R&R' project (check out my About page for more info on the inspiration for my blog name)! This week I am sharing how we made magnetic bamboo blinds to add to the back door in our mudroom! I know, I know. This isn't the first time a shade has been added to a door but I was faced with some tough challenges and overcame each one by not being afraid to be innovative!

$100 Room Makeover Challenge- Week 1

Monday, September 11, 2017

Hi there!

I am excited to say that I am joining the $100 Room Challenge for the month of September! What is the $100 room challenge? Well it is as simple as it sounds- you choose a room and transform it for under $100 in a month! I have sort of done this challenge before without calling it that when I gave our powder room a makeover. Anyway, I am going to be sharing the progress here on the blog!

How To Create a Fall Tablescape for under $50!

Friday, September 8, 2017

Hello (f)all!

I am so sorry for being MIA for almost a month! I have had so many projects 'in the works' and waiting to be posted! One project in particular is not complete because I am waiting on a special package to arrive that has been majorly delayed so that has pushed things back a bit. That PLUS I started a part time work from home gig (ALL THE YAYSπŸ™Œ!) so that has been taking up some of my designated blogging time as well.

Best Farmhouse Ceiling Lights under $100

Monday, August 14, 2017

As I have been getting ready to makeover our entryway I have been scouring the internet for a new semi-flush mount ceiling light that doesn't break the bank. So far, thrifting has not been my friend with this search so I have turned to looking for new light fixtures. In an effort to get rid of 'boob lights' everywhere, I've rounded up the best finds under $100! {Click pictures for sources}

DIY Diaper Box Storage

Friday, August 11, 2017

A few weeks ago, as I was folding up yet another diaper box to take out to the recycling bin, I thought to myself 'I wonder how I could up-cycle these boxes?'. You see, diaper boxes aren't flimsy, they are actually quite sturdy. They also happen to be a decent size to serve many different purposes. Much to my surprise (or maybe not so much), I was not the first person to have this idea. In fact, Pinterest is drowning in DBD (Diaper Box DIY). But that won't stop me! I'm joining the masses and turning an old diaper box into a functional storage bin!

Entryway Mood Board

Wednesday, August 9, 2017

'Hello! Welcome to my home!' That is what every entryway should say.... right? Well, my current entryway is not very 'welcoming'. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I have spider webs greeting guests but its just so... blah. So, I have decided to take on another challenge and give my entryway a fun makeover for under $100!

DIY Engineer Print Art

Wednesday, August 2, 2017

I should have titled this post, 'Third time's a charm' since this project legitimately took three tries to get it right 😁. But that's what the world of DIY is all about sometimes- try, try and try again.

IKEA Farmhouse Finds!

Wednesday, July 19, 2017

Please note that I am not sponsored in any way by Ikea. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

Not too long ago {R} and I visited Ikea on a mission for a Jute Rug. Well, anyone who has been to Ikea must know that it is nearly impossible to leave the store with just one thing (and without stopping for an ice cream cone on the way out). Since we recently went from two incomes to one we have definitely been on a tight budget so I really had to keep myself in check every time I wanted to throw something in the cart (it was hard). I did, however, make a wish list for future shopping trips. Then, I realized how fun it would be to share my favorite Ikea buys/finds with you with a twist! I've rounded up my top 20 favorite Ikea farmhouse finds!

Powder Room Reveal

Monday, July 17, 2017

It's time for some potty talk! That's right- it's powder room reveal day and I have never been so excited to spend time in a bathroom in my life 😜!

I am not sure why it took me so long to update this room because A. I have wanted to paint it since the day we moved in and B. It's a small space so there is no excuse as to why I wasn't able to find the time. Luckily, the previous owners of this home, who just so happened to build it, had great taste and chose a classic pedestal vanity and chrome light fixture that I didn't feel needed to be changed. However, I am just not a fan of the red paint on the walls. I feel like you either love red or you hate it (or maybe i'm just making stuff up). Either way, it was time to make a change! I challenged myself to makeover this room for less than $100 and I'm happy to report I was successful.

Woodland Nursery

Thursday, July 13, 2017

It is absolutely crazy how much can change in a year! My life has been turned completely upside down in the most amazing way! I think it's pretty obvious by the title of this post that {R} and I welcomed a new member to our family, a perfect baby boy named Hudson😊! I could write an entire post about how much Motherhood has changed my life in the most amazing way [and maybe I will!] but today is all about Hudson's nursery.

Powder Room Mood Board

Monday, July 10, 2017

Well, hello there! I'm baaaack! I know, I know... I've said that too many times to count but this time I hope it's for real. Let's just call this past year my 'maternity leave' πŸ˜† It's true that I did have a baby this past March (that is a post for another day) but it is no excuse for being gone so long. Without a long drawn out explanation, priorities shifted and I didn't feel that I had the time to commit to anything other than baby preparation. Anyway, I'm jumping right back in!

I was hoping to come back with a beautiful nursery tour but I have not had the LO's room in photo ready condition since before he was born (I know, I know- I should have done the photo shoot when I had the chance and I promise that I will share a nursery tour as soon as I can find the time to photograph it). Instead, I am going to take baby steps (pun intended) back into this whole 'blogging' thing and start with a mood board.

Since moving into our new house there have been a few minor changes I've wanted to make. Painting our main floor powder room was first on my list. Fast forward to today- nearly a year and a half later- and the powder room is exactly as it was when we moved in. Well, the time has come to get rid of this red room of pain (pain to my eyes at least πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚). See below for my 'mood board', or in laymen's terms- an inspiration board, for everything I am looking to do. Oh, major kicker here- I am hoping to keep this make-over under $100! 😁
