How to Make Drop Cloth Curtains

If you're looking for a cheap and easy way to update a space then look no further! I bring you drop cloth curtains! I seriously do wonder who started this phenomenon. Drop clothes as curtains? Absolutely genius!
I know that everyone and their Mom's dog has had their turn at a Drop Cloth curtain tutorial but why not me? I love DIY projects that are cheap and easy! And I am telling you that even the most beginner of beginner DIY'ers can do this project!

What you will need (this post may contain affiliate links- you can read my full disclosure here):

• Drop Cloth
• Scissors (sharp!)
• Curtain Rod 
• Curtain rings (I chose 1.5 inch)

Let's get started!

The first thing you want to do is wash and dry your drop cloth. I did this for a couple of reasons: 1) To get the wrinkles out easily and 2) To get the chemical smell out. You can choose to skip this step and simply iron or steam your drop cloth. Completely up to you!

Once it was washed I simply folded it in half and cut at the seam.

Once it was cut I measured exactly how long I wanted the drop cloths to hang and then folded over the extra. 

I made sure to measure carefully so that all of the panels matched.

Once I had it folded over properly I simply used my curtain rings and clipped the drop cloth in place.

Once all the clips were in place I simply folded the top nicely so it would hang nice and even.

Then with the part that was folded over facing the back I simply hung the curtains from the rod I installed!

You would never know these are $10 Drop Cloths from Walmart! I so wish I could take credit for this idea but it was not my own. I'd love to meet whoever came up with this because it is a absolutely genius and saves tons of money! It's also the perfect farmhousy touch to any room in the house!
