One Room Challenge Week 5: Modern Farmhouse Decor

I cannot believe the reveal for the One Room Challenge is only one week away! This week I had so much fun pulling together the finishing details for our Modern Farmhouse Guest Bedroom makeover! When it comes to room makeovers I typically like to have a good mix of old and new. There are some items I feel can be repurposed to save money (and to recycle) but I also like to find a couple of statement pieces to add that really complete the room.

As you already know, I am giving our guest bedroom a modern farmhouse makeover for this One Room Challenge. When I was putting together the mood board for our guest bedroom makeover the first thing I started to shop for was a bed. I knew that this room really needed a new bed or headboard to elevate the space. I was surprised to find that Kirkland's had so many amazing beds available!

Rugs

Area rugs are my favorite way to add color and texture to a space. They can also be a great way to separate spaces in a more open concept design. I am often asked how I feel about layering rugs on top of carpet and I am all about it! I even love the idea of layering rugs on top of rugs! Kirkland's has some great area rugs at great prices!

Bedding is one thing that can completely transform a bedroom. If you are looking to make a change but maybe aren't ready for a full room makeover you could honestly just switch out your bedding and it can completely change the look and feel of the whole room!
