How to Make a Custom Clipboard

Happy Mother's Day! This day is quickly becoming my favorite holiday of the year because it is such a wonderful day to celebrate all the amazing women in my life and a day to celebrate becoming a Mother myself. Today I wanted to share a quick & easy DIY project that you can make!

Last year was an easy year for giving Mother's Day gifts because I knew all the Moms in my life would love pictures of our new baby boy (first grandchild!). This year was a bit trickier but I figured out a way to give a gift from Hudson and me!

Let's get started!

What you will need (This post may contain affiliate links- you can read my full disclosure here):
The first thing I did was sand down the clipboard to take off whatever finish was on it.

Then, I gave the clipboard two coats of paint using Fusion Mineral Paint, a paint I happened to have on hand.

Once the paint dried it was time to apply the vinyl.

Using my Cricut machine, I created the wording I wanted, printed it out and applied it (working on a Cricut tutorial for you soon!).

After the vinyl was applied I simply used a glue gun to mount the magnets to the clipboard.

Voila! You have a custom clipboard perfect for any home to display a piece of children's artwork!

So much better than a simply magnet! And so so cute when waiting for new artwork to display!

I just so happened to have a few finger paintings my son had done that morning so this is where his portion of the gift comes in!

Pin this for later!

Have you used a clipboard in this way? Share you projects in the comments below!

As always, Thank you for visiting R&R at home!
